The baby shower we planned for Jehn took place Memorial Day weekend up in San Jose. It turned out perfectly and everything about it reminded me of Jehn. It was sweet, simple and very enjoyable. We didn’t play any crazy games (just a couple of raffles) and Jessica lead a beautiful devotional about the way Christ loves us and translated it to the love a mother has for her child. We made fabric flowers (that we called Prayer Poises) that we gave as favors to each of the guests; the flowers were to be a reminder to pray for the Buchanan family and the new baby boy each time they were worn. We also had a candy bar in which we put all of the Buchanan’s favorite candies in cutely decorated mason jars. Jehn and Mike LOVE candy so this was a perfect addition to the shower. We made diaper cakes and filled the middle of them with fresh flowers and placed them on cake platters and used them as centerpieces for each table. We had such an awesome weekend visiting with Jehn and Mike and Jehn’s parents. I can’t think of a better way to spend Memorial Day weekend! Enjoy a few photos…
